Construction fencing has been part of Dana Point Harbor for years, and the rebuild keeps shifting where the parking sits. Golden Lantern drops from PCH to the water past the Ocean Institute turn, and the lots below it fill early whenever a swell is running. Doheny State Beach sits just east of the harbour mouth, its entrance kiosk queue spilling back onto Dana Point Harbor Drive by mid-morning through summer.

Above all that, the land rises to the bluff. The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel occupies the cliff edge off Ritz-Carlton Drive and the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach sits inland of it with the golf course between, both running motor courts where the car goes straight to valet. PCH through Capistrano Beach crawls on summer weekends, and the interchange where the 5 meets Pacific Coast Highway is the pinch point everybody underestimates.
Running a car down to Dana Point
Two ways south: the 405 to the 73 and onto the 5 at San Juan Capistrano, or PCH the whole way when the coast is moving. Either lands near 90 minutes from LAX or Hollywood, the far end of the county. Book before midday and the car goes out that day; a late call is better set for the following morning. The Ritz-Carlton and Waldorf Astoria motor courts take a handover cleanly, valet included, and Monarch Beach driveways work too. Harbour lots move with the rebuild. Choosing for the Dana Point bluff

Can the car be handed over at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel or the Waldorf Astoria?
Both motor courts work, and they are the preferred meeting points here. The driver pulls under the porte-cochere, paperwork is signed there, and valet takes the keys straight afterwards. Tell the front desk a delivery is expected so the arrival is not treated as an unbooked guest. Collection at the end of the rental runs the same way.
Is Dana Point close enough for a same-day booking?
Usually, when the request arrives before midday. The drive is close to 90 minutes each way, so one delivery eats most of a driver's afternoon. An evening handover on the same day is possible but tight, and scheduling for the next morning is the honest recommendation once a booking lands late.
What is the minimum rental period?
