Is a car worth having if we are staying in Carlsbad Village?
For the Village alone, probably not — State Street, the beach and the train station are all walkable. It earns its keep the moment the trip widens out: the flower fields above Cannon Road, Batiquitos Lagoon, the drive up to San Clemente or inland to Palomar Mountain.
