Katella Avenue is the axis of the place. It runs east from the Disneyland Resort past the Anaheim Convention Center, over the 5, and on into the Platinum Triangle where Honda Center and Angel Stadium face each other across the freeway. Harbor Boulevard crosses it as the hotel strip, lined with motor courts and pedestrian crossings, and both drop to walking pace when a park empties or a game lets out.
Anaheim between the parks and the 5
The 5 and the 57 carry the load, and carry it badly at the wrong hours: the 57 north through Orange stacks up from four onwards, the 5 through the resort is a standing bottleneck. Parking on the strip is valet or structure almost without exception. Resort decks are enormous, but the queues to enter them are long, and a Harbor hotel will normally take the car for a nightly fee charged on your room.
Anaheim drop-offs, valet first
The 5 south is the direct line, with the 405 to the 22 as the escape when Buena Park has it stacked. Around an hour from our LAX-side base makes this the shortest hop in the county, evenings included. Hotel valet on Harbor Boulevard is the standard: the driver pulls into the motor court, paperwork is signed at the desk, the car drops into the deck. Convention weeks and stadium nights load Katella hard, so a mid-morning window beats five o'clock. A Harbor drop starts at $100, the amount fixed beforehand.
Anaheim and the valet-lane test
The Chrysler Pacifica does what a family on Harbor Boulevard actually needs: sliding doors in a tight valet lane, room for strollers, an easy line into the resort decks. A BMW X6 M lends a convention visit some presence in the Honda Center car park. The Kia K5 is the cheap, comfortable daily for a week spent mostly on the 5 and the 57. And the Mercedes CLA 250 parks itself into the narrow bays the older Katella structures were built with.

Can the car be delivered to a Disneyland Resort or Harbor Boulevard hotel?
Hotel valet is the easiest route, and it is how most Anaheim handovers happen. The driver arrives at the motor court, hands over at the desk, and the car goes into the hotel deck under the guest's name. Resort hotels charge their own nightly parking fee, billed by the hotel rather than by LVLX. Warn the front desk to expect the delivery.
Is a car worth having if I am here for a convention?
That depends on the days. The Convention Center, the resort hotels and much of Harbor Boulevard are walkable, so the car sits in the deck through sessions. Renting from one day means taking it for the evenings or a single run to the coast, instead of paying a week of structure parking on something that never moves.
What is the minimum rental period?
One day. Daily, weekly and monthly rates, with long stays running month-to-month and no lock-in.
Is a credit card or a credit check required?
Neither. A valid licence and a deposit from $500 is all that is needed, and there is no minimum age or young-driver surcharge.
